The BJP central and state leaderships are meeting separately in the national capital over the government formation in Uttarakhand. A meeting of BJP central leadership is underway at Union Home Minister Amit Shah' residence, while another meeting of Uttarakhand leaders is going on at the residence of former Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' here.

With electoral victories in four out of five states, the BJP is gearing up for the government formations in the states. From the capital of the states to the capital of the country, the meetings are in full swing. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, party's national president J.P. Nadda and party's national organisation general secretary B.L. Santosh are continuously meeting to decide on the selection of Chief Ministers and their cabinets.

Small parties that have made a big splash in the recently concluded Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, are now demanding their proverbial pound of flesh. These small parties that are caste-based and have limited areas of influence, had contested the elections in alliance with either the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) or the Samajwadi Party (SP).

A year before the Assembly polls, putting an end to infighting in the Rajasthan unit is turning out to be a major challenge for the BJP. The party is trying hard to end the infighting between former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and others. Fighting over the party faces for next year's election has already started and all the camps are asserting their claim to lead the BJP in the 2023 Rajasthan Assembly polls.

In a tweet, Malviya said, "Which part of #KashmirFiles does Omar find untrue? The fact that Farooq Abdullah, his father, resigned as CM on 18Jan1990, and as if on cue the genocide was unleashed on hapless Kashmiri Hindus starting 19Jan1990? That he ordered the release of 70 ISI trained dreaded terrorists?"

The BJP has fielded Agnimitra Paul for the Lok Sabha by-polls from Asansol in West Bengal against TMC candidate and former union minister Shatrughan Sinha. Paul is the MLA from Asansol South assembly constituency and general secretary of the West Bengal BJP. In a statement BJP national general secretary Arun Singh said, "The BJP Central Election Committee has approved the following names for biennial polls of Rajya Sabha."

National in-charge of the BJP Information and Technology Department, Amit Malviya asked which part of "The Kashmir Files" does Omar find untrue? In a tweet, Malviya said, "Which part of #KashmirFiles does Omar find untrue? The fact that Farooq Abdullah, his father, resigned as CM on 18Jan1990, and as if on cue the genocide was unleashed on hapless Kashmiri Hindus starting 19Jan1990? That he ordered the release of 70 ISI trained dreaded terrorists?"

Speaking to reporters, Tanavade also said that the state unit had already submitted profiles of winning candidates to the central BJP leaders and added that it was the central leaders who would take a call on whom to pick as chief minister. He also added that the name of the state's new chief minister could be announced after Holi, even as party sources claim that Pramod Sawant, who served as chief minister from 2019-22 and is the current caretaker CM.

Though the BJP won four states in the recent Assembly polls but winning the Presidential election will not be an easy task for it because they don't have even half of the legislators of the country, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Wednesday. The Presidential election is conducted through an electoral college with Parliament and legislative assembly members casting their votes in order of preference for the candidates in fray.

Taking a lead in the Congress, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednedsday will be watching 'The Kashmir Files' movie in Raipur. He has invited all the MLAs from the state to watch the movie. Baghel will be watching the 8 p.m. show in a cinema hall in the state capital.
