Amid the raging controversy over his remarks on "colour of citizens," Sam Pitroda resigned as Chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress. But his troubles seem far from over.

In the video, whose date is not specified, Pitroda says that while reservations do help create equality and opportunities, "premier institutions should be kept free of reservations to preserve their integrity."

During the interview, Pitroda said that the excellence of these institutions must be maintained, and reservations could affect their quality.

The views are in contrast to the electoral agenda of the man who has been rallying him, Rahul Gandhi, who is busy promising expanded reservations for social justice. Gandhi has also been demanding a caste census and the principle of "jitni abaadi, utna haq" or rights in proportion to population. The Congress manifesto has even promised a constitutional amendment to breach the existing 50% reservation cap for SC, ST, and OBCs.

Earlier today, Pitroda's comments that "A diverse country, where people on the East look like Chinese, people on the West look like Arab, people on the North look like may be White and people in the South look like Africa.”
