Ajinkya Rahane was struck on the index finger of his right hand off a Pat Cummins bouncer while batting on Day Two of the marquee clash. He immediately felt pain and the physio rushed on the field immediately for treating the injured finger, which Rahane had previously fractured in his playing career.

The India women's team has been without a head coach since Ramesh Powar was moved to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in December 2022. Last year, BCCI secretary and ACC chairman Jay Shah had made it clear that the Indian team will not travel to Pakistan for the Continental championship and demanded that the event be moved to a neutral venue. Qualifier 1 to be played among the top two teams in points table will be held on May 23 at the M. A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. It will be followed by the Eliminator played between third and fourth-ranked teams in the table on May 24 at the same venue. India's domestic cricket season 2023-24 to begin with Duleep Trophy from June 28

The season will see a total of 1846 matches being played between the last week of June 2023 and March 2024, a BCCI media release said. The coveted Duleep Trophy will end on July 16, 2023 and it will be followed by the Prof. Deodhar Trophy -- to be played from July 24, 2023 to August 3. Both these tournaments will be played across six zones -- Central, South, North, East, West and North-East.
