Samsung unveils Android 12-driven One UI 4 for Galaxy S21 series

The update is based on Android 12 and adds new theming options, keyboard tweaks and privacy settings. One UI 4 will be available on the Galaxy S21 series starting November 15 and will soon become available on previous Galaxy S and Note series as well as Galaxy Z series, A series and tablets.
Twitter will no longer crop single images on web app

With the new update, users will no longer have to click on an image to see the full picture. The feature appears to be rolling out to everyone right now. The algorithmic image cropping that Twitter was using to fit images into preview boxes was problematic. In a blog post, Rumman Chowdhury, a software engineering director for Twitter's machine learning ethics, transparency and accountability team, wrote that the company concluded the algorithm was biased after testing it for gender- and race-based biases.
Netflix Gaming rolling out for iPhone, iPad users

iOS users will see a dedicated row in the Netflix iOS and iPadOS apps, from which you can pick a game to download starting on Thursday. "Netflix Games is coming to iOS! Starting tomorrow, you can access Netflix Games through the Netflix app on any mobile device, anywhere in the world," Netflix Geeked wrote on Twitter. A recent report said that the video streaming giant will release all of its games on Apple's App Store individually and let users launch the games via the Netflix app. However, they won't be downloadable and playable within the app itself.
Pixel 6 Pro doesn't use 30W fast charging: Report

The official Google Pixel 6 Support page had stated that up to 50 per cent charge could be accomplished in 30 minutes, using the Google 30W USB-C Charger with USB-PD 3.0. According to Android Authority, the maximum power pulled from the charger by both the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro is actually 22W with an average of 13W over the duration of a cycle. The tests seem to be extensive, with some other high-power USB Power Delivery PPS plugs from Samsung and Anker getting maximum power of 22W from the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.
Google unveils Android 12L for foldables, tablets

The idea here is to provide users on tablets, foldables and Chrome OS laptops -- anything with a screen above 600 dp -- with an improved user interface. "In 12L we have refined the UI to make Android more beautiful and easier to use on screens larger than 600sp across notifications, quick settings, lockscreen, overview, home screen, and more. Try your app with the UI updates," the company said in a blogpost.
Snapdragon announces four new chipsets

The Snapdragon 778G Plus is an overclocked Snapdragon 778G with support for Qualcomm FastConnect, while the Snapdragon 695 brings support for both sub-6GHz and mmWave 5G networks as well as 120Hz refresh rates for HD+ screens. The Snapdragon 480 Plus is a new entry-level 5G chipset that represents a small speed bump over the Snapdragon 480.
Users can now transfer WhatsApp chats from iOS to Pixel, Android 12 phones

This feature is already available on Samsung Galaxy devices but unlike with Samsung phones, where the feature is available on devices running Android 10 and above, here it is limited to phones with Android 12. "You can safely transfer your chat history and memories from your WhatsApp account on iPhone to Android. We worked closely with the WhatsApp team to build a new set of capabilities, all designed to make it easier to switch from iPhone to Android and take your WhatsApp history with you," the company said in a statement.
Galaxy Z Flip3 starts getting Oct 2021 Android security patch globally

According to the GSMArena, the October 2021 patch for the international Galaxy Z Flip3 comes with firmware having version F711BXXU2AUJ7. The patch fixes more than 60 security and privacy-related issues and the changelog also talks about improved stability of the device.
Android app support rolls out to Windows 11 Insiders

Now the users with Window 11 PCs, can test the Android apps as the initial release of Window 11 did not launch the Android support. The company in a statement said that a notification in the Android app notifications in the action centre can be seen or a clipboard between a Window 11 and android apps can be shared from now on.
