Google launches software to build apps that work across devices

Google's The cross device software, compatible till the Android 8 version, is now available with a developer preview for Android phones and tablets, and will arrive later for Android surfaces and non-Android operating systems. Users can also share an app's current state with the same app on another device and start the app on a secondary device without having to keep the app running in background.
Spyware firm offers services to hack iOS, Android devices for $8 mn

Malware source code provider Vx-underground found documents representing a proposal from Intellexa, offering services that include Android and iOS device exploits. "Leaked documents online show the purchase (and documentation of) an $8,000,000 iOS Remote Code Execution zero-day exploit," it tweeted. The offer includes 10 infections for iOS and Android devices, as well as a "magazine of 100 successful infections".
WhatsApp screenshot blocking now arrives on Android beta

Meta Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently announced three new privacy features on WhatsApp, giving users more control over their conversations and added layers of protection when messaging. Screenshot blocking was one of those feature and was under development on WhatsApp beta for iOS, and has not been spotted on Android beta by WhatsApp beta tracker website WABetaInfo.
Android 13 rolled out with new features for Pixel devices

Google said Android 13 will roll out to Samsung Galaxy, ASUS, HMD (Nokia phones), iQOO, Motorola, OnePlus, OPPO, Realme, Sharp, Sony, Tecno, vivo, Xiaomi and more later this year. "Android 13 comes with new capabilities for your phone and tablet, like extending app colour theming to even more apps, language settings that can be set on an app level, improved privacy controls..." Sameer Samat, VP of Product Management, Android and Google Play, said in a blogpost.

Microsoft working on 'lite' version of Outlook app for Android users

The mention of the coming Outlook Lite app for Android was added to the roadmap on June 30. And, as per the entry, the tech giant plans to make the new app generally available worldwide in July 2022, reports ZDNet. "An Android app that brings the main benefits of Outlook in a smaller app size with fast performance for low-end devices on any network," said the brief description of Outlook Lite.
Android apps on Windows 11 coming to 5 new countries

Currently only available in the US, WSA will launch in France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the UK before the end of the year, reports XDA Developers. The WSA was announced right alongside Windows 11 during an event on June 24, 2021, but it did not officially launch until earlier this year.

Google has updated its chart showing the percentage of Android devices running various versions of the OS, but there are still no details about Android 12's adoption rate, reports 9To5Google. According to the new distribution data for 2022, devices on Android 11 and newer now make up the biggest single slice of the pie at 28.3 per cent, up from 24.2 per cent.
Google says Android 13 Beta to have support for braille displays

The company said that it is making it easier for braille readers to use Android. "Available in our next Android 13 Beta in a few weeks, we are beginning to build out-of-the-box support for braille displays in Talkback, our screen reader within Android," the company said in a blogpost.

In Android 13, apps must get your permission before sending you notifications. "In addition, we're reducing the number of apps that require your location.
