'Prithviraj' is based on the life and valour of the fearless and mighty King Prithviraj Chauhan. Akshay is essaying the role of the legendary warrior who fought valiantly to protect India from the merciless invader Muhammad Ghori in this visual spectacle. Akshay is all praises for his talented co-star as the superstar feels she is an extremely gifted actor.

The actor, who will portray king Prithviraj Chauhan in the film, admitted that he felt like "a kid in a candy store" when he got to know the scale of action that he will get to perform in 'Prithviraj'. Talking about the scale of the film, which happens to be YRF's first historical film, Akshay said in a statement, "'Prithviraj' is mounted at a scale that will wow people and action plays an integral part in heightening the entertainment quotient of the film.

Akshay Kumar says, "Rarely do films take this much effort and embark upon such monumental tasks. Every element of our film which is based on the life of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan has been dealt with utmost sincerity, authenticity and reverence. "We have paid attention to the minutest details while making the film because we wanted this to be the most glorious retelling of Samrat Prithviraj's life on the big screen," he said.

In an announcement made on Twitter, Akshay said he would not be able to join the delegation of film personalities that Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur is leading to the Cannes Film Festival. "Was really looking forward to rooting for our cinema at the India Pavilion at #Cannes2022, but have sadly tested positive for Covid," the actor said in his tweet on Saturday night.

Akshay says, "According to me, aHari Har' is the soul of the film and salutes the daredevil spirit of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan who sacrificed everything to protect his motherland from the merciless invader, Mohammad of Ghor." "'Hari Har' is brimming with the mighty king's resolve to protect India which is why I connect so deeply with the song."

The period film has been helmed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, who has a penchant for historical stories and whose notable works include titles like the 2003 period drama 'Pinjar' and epic Indian TV historical drama 'Chanakya'. The trailer launch was attended by Akshay Kumar, who plays the titular character, former Miss World Manushi Chillar, who plays the character of princess Sanyogita and the film's director Dwivedi.

Akshay was speaking at the sidelines of the film's trailer launch. Elaborating on the same, Akshay said, "I have been working in the industry for thirty years and I have to say that I haven't seen a historical film of this scale in my career spanning three decades. I felt a sense of accomplishment after portraying the character of such a great man, I would like to thank my director Chandraprakash Dwivedi

Akshay shared: "When I was narrated the film by Dr. Saab, I was taken aback by the amount of research that he has done while writing this film. Writing and directing a historical is not an easy job and I was deeply impressed that he has left no stone unturned to ensure that we are paying the most glorious tribute to Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan's life and valour.

Dwivedi said: "'Prithviraj' is my dream project. It's a script that I have nurtured for a long, long time because of the extensive research work that was needed before I even attempted to make a film on this mighty and legendary king.
