The DGCA said that after frequent reports of engineering related occurrences in several airlines, it has conducted several spot checks in order to ensure that airlines are adhering to the laid down standards.
Virgin Atlantic cancels Delhi-London flight

Amid the Heathrow Airport's decision to limit the number of passengers to one lakh a day, Virgin Atlantic cancelled its Delhi-London flight on Thursday. Industry sources claimed that other airlines could also cancel flights in the coming days due to capacity constraints. Owing to staff crunch, Heathrow Airport has imposed the limits on passenger numbers till September 11.
Saudi Arabia opens air space for all air carriers

Emirates blasts Heathrow 'incompetence' over 'airmageddon'

The Dubai-based airline on Thursday slammed demands made by London's Heathrow airport earlier this week that carriers stop selling any more tickets for this summer, CNN reported. The airline, which operates six daily flights from Heathrow, has rejected the new limits and called them "entirely unreasonable and unacceptable", CNN reported.
Delhi-Dubai SpiceJet flight diverted to Karachi after technical snag

The SpiceJet B737 aircraft operating flight SG-11 (Delhi-Dubai) was diverted to Karachi due to an indicator light malfunctioning," a senior airline official told IANS. He said that the aircraft landed safely in Karachi and passengers were safely disembarked. "No emergency was declared and the aircraft made a normal landing," the official said.

"Fares meanwhile have strengthened from the lows of February 2022 and have offset the incremental burden of higher fuel costs," the brokerage said in a note.
DGCA warns airlines against offering unserviceable seats

"This is to inform that it has come to notice of the DGCA that some of the scheduled carriers are offering unserviceable seats on their scheduled international/domestic operations," it said in a statement, adding that it was not only causing inconvenience to the travellers but also inviting a serious safety concern.
