Air India gets first Boeing 777-200LR to fly on international route

It will be focussing on dramatically growing both its network and fleet, developing a completely revamped customer proposition, improving reliability and on-time performance. The Boeing aircraft leased from Delta airlines has premium economy class along with standard classes. Sources said that the modified aircraft reached Delhi on Sunday evening.
Regular colouring of grey hair, no religious threads: Air India's grooming guidelines

The new guidelines said that male crew with a deep receding hairline or balding patches must keep a clean shaven or bald look. It also said that the head must be shaved daily. The grooming guidelines said that while grey hair is not permitted, it must be regularly coloured in a natural shade and fashion colours and henna are not allowed.
Air India tops list in on-time performance, Go First at bottom

As per data from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, On-time performance of Air India flights was 90.8 per cent followed by Vistara and AirAsia recording on-time performance of 89.1 per cent during October. Similarly, Indigo airline recorded an on-time performance of 87.5 per cent while Spicjet had an on-time performance of 68.9 per cent. Go First was at the bottom with on-time performance of 60.7 per cent during the month.

Consolidation of these two airlines, both of which operate as low-cost carriers, will be undertaken as part of the restructuring roadmap that is being envisioned for the Tata Group's airline business and is expected to bring customer, revenue, cost and operational benefits through broader adoption of each airlines' best practices, systems and routes, and the combined entity's greater scale.
Singapore Airlines in discussions with Tatas over integration of Vistara, Air India

"SIA is currently in confidential discussions with Tata to explore a potential transaction in relation to the securities of Vistara and Air India Ltd, a subsidiary of Tata (the 'Potential Transaction'). Air India fined Rs 10 lakh for denying boarding despite valid tickets

After going through the airline's submissions, as part of enforcement action, the DGCA has levied the penalty, and has advised the airline to immediately put systems in order to resolve the issue. The action by the regulator comes after multiple reports of flyers being denied boarding by airlines despite being in possession of valid tickets and reporting at the airport on time.
'Mountains to climb': Air India CEO-designate Wilson on new role

Wilson is currently the CEO of Singapore Airlines' subsidiary Scoot Air. Singapore Airlines (SIA) is a joint venture partner of Tata Group in full-service carrier Vistara. "This afternoon I informed the executive team and your union leaders of my resignation from Scoot and the SIA Group," he said to the employees to Scoot through a communique, which reportedly was his farewell letter.
