Air India to temporarily decrease flights on certain US routes

The CEO said the the carrier will reduce few flights to San Francisco and Newark airports for the next three months. Air India has a staff strength of around 11,000, including flying and non-flying employees. While speaking at the CAPA India Summit, Wilson said: "There is a lot happening,", adding that the airline has taken significant steps to improve passenger experience.
Air India offers voluntary retirement scheme to its staff again

The VRS offer will be available for permanent general cadre officers who have attained the age of 40 years or above and completed a minimum of five years of continuous service at the airline. Clerical and unskilled categories of employees who have completed a minimum of five years of continuous service at Air India will also be eligible to opt for VRS.

Wilson had said that the airline has learnt lessons and it could have reacted better to the issues surrounding the 'peeing' incident which occurred in November last year.
Air India resumes Delhi-Copenhagen flight after 3 yrs

This service will further strengthen Air India's foothold in Europe, after the recently resumed flights to Vienna and Milan, the airline said. Passengers can now conveniently fly non-stop to Copenhagen, a popular tourism and business centre and an educational hub of Europe.

Addressing a virtual conference on Monday, the airline CEO talked on a host of issues, including the Air India-Vistara merger and the matter surrounding the peeing incident and unruly passengers. He informed that incidents of unruly behaviour by inebriated passengers are quite frequent, adding that the airline has now become strict and is reporting all such cases of unruly behaviour.

Air India to add over 4200 cabin crew, 900 pilots in 2023

Earlier this month, Air India announced a mega order to purchase 470 aircraft from Boeing and Airbus to support its growth plans. It has already announced plans to lease 36 aircraft of which two B 777-200LR have already joined the fleet. The cabin crew, who will be recruited from around the country, will undergo a 15-week programme imparting safety and service skills.
Air India to bring back passengers, crew of flight diverted to Stockholm

"A B777 will fly from Mumbai to Stockholm at 2 p.m. on Thursday and reach Stockholm at 11 p.m. The flight with passengers will take off at 1 a.m. on Friday an will reach Delhi at 8 a.m. in the morning," said the airline spokesperson on Thursday. Flight AAI106, a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, made an emergency landing in the Swedish capital on Wednesday. It was carrying 284 passengers and eight crew members.
