Air India's action unfair and discriminatory: Experts

A senior DGCA official said that the regulator is examining their response. "We are examining their response. We will comment afterwards," said the official. As per sources, the airline has said that its internal committee has obtained the necessary documentation and held its first hearing and the alleged perpetrator has requested for additional documents prior to a second hearing scheduled for January 10.
Paris-bound Air India flight returns to Delhi after technical snag

Officials said that Air India's Delhi-Paris flight AI 143, carrying nearly 210 passengers, took off from the Indira Gandhi International Airport at 1.28 p.m. and was in the air for nearly 35 minutes when a full emergency was declared. It returned to Delhi safely at 2.25 p.m. Aviation regulator DGCA said: "On 04.02.2023, Air India B787-800 aircraft VT-AND operating flight AI143 (Delhi-Paris) was involved in Air turnback due to Slats Drive snag message." Earlier on Tuesday, an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Phuket returned to Delhi due to a technical snag shortly after takeoff.
Air India launches 'FogCare' initiative to minimise disruption

This initiative will initially be launched for flights departing from and arriving at Delhi's IGI Airport.Under FogCare, Air India will take proactive steps to isolate the impact of fog on flight operations, which usually takes place in the early mornings and late evenings, but often also cascades throughout the day.
198 govt companies/corp incur accumulated losses of Rs 2,00,419 crore: CAG report

"As a result, the aggregate net worth of these companies had become negative to the extent of Rs 1,13,894 crore as on March 31, 2021. 'Air India in talks for acquiring 500 aircraft'

The deal is said to be part of Tata Group's efforts to revive Air India, reports in a section of media said. As per reports, the orders are learnt to include both narrow-bodied and wide-bodied jets. The developments though could not be confirmed, they added.
Air India commits over $400 million to fully refurbish existing widebody aircraft cabin interiors

This refurbishment will see a complete overhaul of existing cabin interiors, including the addition of latest generation seats and best in-class inflight entertainment across all classes. In addition, the refurbishment will see the introduction of a Premium Economy cabin on both fleets. The First Class cabin will also be retained on the 777s.
Tata Group to consolidate Air India and Vistara

Vistara shall be merged with Air India post receipt of requisite approvals. As part of the merger transaction, SIA shall also invest Rs 2,059 crore in Air India. Post the consolidation, SIA shall hold 25.1 per cent shareholding in Air India. The transaction is estimated to be completed by March 2024.
