Air India New York-Delhi flight diverted to London due to medical emergency

According to information, the flight that departed from New York at 11.05 p.m. on Sunday was scheduled to arrive at Delhi airport at 11.25 p.m. on Monday. A reaction from the airline on the issue was awaited. Earlier on Monday, an IndiGo flight operating from Delhi to Deogarh was diverted to Lucknow following a specific bomb threat.

The order comprises 40 Airbus A350s, 20 Boeing 787s and 10 Boeing 777-9s widebody aircraft, as well as 210 Airbus A320/321 Neos and 190 Boeing 737 MAX single-aisle aircraft. The A350 aircraft will be powered by Rolls-Royce engines, and the B777/787s by engines from GE Aerospace. All single-aisle aircraft will be powered by engines from CFM International.

The PTI report quoted a source familiar with the matter as saying that the agreement with Airbus, for around 250 aircraft, is expected to be announced next week and will likely include 40 Airbus A350 wide-body planes, making Air India the first Indian carrier to operate this type of aircraft. The airline has signed a deal with Boeing for about 200 planes, the PTI source added.
