Eight flights were diverted to Jaipur, including three from Air India, two from Akasa, and one from Big Blue, according to airport sources.

The emergency was prompted by a malfunction in one of the two CFM engines powering the Airbus A320neo, specifically, a malfunction in the fire engine.

As per sources, among the evacuees were 10 crew members, comprising pilots and cabin crew, who were stationed in Israel for the purpose of operating the return flight.

According to the officials, the case pertains to a passenger who caused disruption on the flight and directed offensive language at the female cabin crew.

As per the report available with IANS, Madhya Pradesh comes second after Kerala, where Rs 2.60 crore was paid to 966 patients, who were declared dead but continued to avail treatment under the scheme.

The flight crew was promptly informed about the situation by the Delhi Air Traffic Control (ATC) soon after the departure of the flight at 1.22 p.m. The flight had 220 people on board.

According to Air India’s statement, a passenger aboard flight AI301, which was operating from Sydney to Delhi on July 9, displayed unacceptable behavior despite receiving verbal and written warnings. This behavior caused distress to other passengers, including one of Air India’s employees.

The passengers were shocked when they reported at the airport at 11 a.m. but were told that the flight had left at 9.55 a.m. The departure time of the IX695 flight was 1.10 p.m., as per the tickets booked by these passengers two days ago. The passengers complained that they had no prior information about the change in the departure time, adding that they were asked to report at 11 a.m., but were not informed about the new departure timing.

The mid-air collision was averted after the warning systems alerted the pilots of both the planes, thus preventing a major tragedy from taking place, reports said. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has suspended two employees of the air traffic controller department for "carelessness", CAAN spokesperson Jagannath Niroula was quoted as saying by reports.
