Huawei may launch its next-gen foldable phone in Feb 2022

A new report coming from Digital Chat Station claims that the next-generation foldable device from the company will be launched in the month of February 2022, most probably along with the flagship Mate 50 series phones. The report adds that the company is currently testing the under-display fingerprint sensor and the OLED screen for the next generation of foldable smartphones.

Apple HomePod Software 15.1.1 released with podcasts bug fix

According to Apple's release notes, the update addresses a problem that could cause podcasts to fail to play on the HomePod and HomePod mini. Apple's smart speakers will automatically update themselves, but users can do it manually. To perform a manual HomePod software update, open the Home app then tap on the Home icon in the upper-left corner of the screen. Choose Home Settings from the resulting pop-up window. Then choose Software Update. Apple's support website has more details.
Roblox outage sparks usage rise in rival mobile games

The Roblox outage began on October 28 and lasted until October 31, during which time players were unable to access the game or even visit its website. According to Sensor Tower, comparing the period of full-day outage from October 29 to 31, the average time spent on the app declined by 93 per cent week-over-week worldwide. This is due to our panel of installs continuing to show session counts based on attempts to access the app.
Tesla adding cloud sync feature to driver profiles

In Tesla software updates reports there is a reference to a new feature called "Cloud Profiles", which gives the user the option to aEnable Vehicle Sync' for individual driver profiles. Musk previously said cloud-synced profiles were on the way and one can expect Cloud Profiles feature to be available in a software update later this year.
Hit by Apple fees, Facebook offers creators new way to earn money

In a Facebook post, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that as we build for the metaverse, we're focused on unlocking opportunities for creators to make money from their work. "The 30 per cent fees that Apple takes on transactions make it harder to do that, so we're updating our Subscriptions product so now creators can earn more," he posted late on Wednesday.
WhatsApp may extend 'delete for everyone' time limit window

The 'delete for everyone' option was rolled out in 2017 and initially had a time limit of seven seconds that later got extended to 4,096 seconds in 2018. Now, As per a WaBetaInfo report, the time limit for using the 'delete for everyone' feature may be increased to an indefinite period. The publication even shared a screenshot where it showcased that a message from three months ago was still eligible to get deleted for both people.
Clubhouse adds support for 5 Indian languages

The company announced that it is rolling out support for Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. Other languages added as part of the localisation feature include French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazilian), and Spanish. The language support will be available to Android users only and will soon be rolled out for iOS users across the world.

More than half (55 per cent) of large companies globally are not effectively stopping cyber-attacks, finding and fixing breaches quickly, or reducing the impact of breaches, according to research from global professional services company Accenture. "Our analysis reveals that organisations too often focus solely on business outcomes at the expense of cybersecurity, creating greater risk. While getting the balance right isn't easy, those who have a clear view of the threat landscape and a strong alignment on business priorities and outcomes achieve greater levels of cyber resilience," Kelly Bissell, who leads Accenture Security globally, said.
Lenovo leads global PC market in Q3, Apple 2nd

Apple remained in second place with modest growth of 5 per cent for total shipments of 23 million units. HP felt the impact of supply constraints, with a 6 per cent decline in annual shipments and at the fourth place, Dell saw a stellar 27 per cent increase in shipments and a nearly 3 per cent increase in market share, according to latest data from market research form Canalys.
