Olympics Shooting: American Shaner bags air rifle gold as India's Panwar, Deepak disappoint

The 20-year-old Shaner set an Olympic record of 251.6 points, beating the Chinese duo of Sheng Lihao and Yang Haoran, who claimed silver and bronze respectively. Yang, who did not qualify for the final at the 2016 Rio Olympics, was the top finisher in the qualification with an Olympic record of 632.7 points. Shaking off a slow start in the final, he was unable to surpass his 16-year-old teammate Sheng, who shot for 250.9 points.
Tokyo Olympics TT: Sathiyan crashes out in second round

Sathiyan, the world No. 26, took three of the first four sets before losing the next three to crash out 7-11, 11-7, 11-4, 11-5, 9-11, 10-12 and 6-11 to Hang. The match lasted an hour and three minutes. Sathiyan, who received a bye in the first round, had defeated Hang twice before -- 4-0 at the 2017 India Open and 4-1 at the Spanish Open later in the year.
Tokyo Olympics Shooting: Panwar, Deepak fail to qualify for air rifle final

Ranked world No. 2 and No. 9 in the event, Panwar and Deepak were making their Olympic Games debut. Deepak finished at 26th position with a score of 624.7, while Panwar ended with a score of 622.8 at the 32nd spot in the qualification stage of the event at the Asaka Shooting Range. Deepak and Panwar were forced to play catch-up after shooting low scores in the first two series.

IOA seeks relaxation in Covid tests for athletes, officials returning from Japan

However, Jemimah, who opened the innings, single-handedly dominated the opposition bowling, hammering 17 fours and a six to take her team past the target with 15 balls to spare. She shared an unbeaten 112-run partnership with Alice Davidson-Richards.
