Opener Danielle Wyatt, who shot to limelight seven years ago for proposing Virat Kohli on Twitter, smashed an unbeaten 89 off 56 balls late Wednesday night to help England Women beat India Women by eight wickets in the third and final T20I. The win helped England win the T20I series 2-1 and clinch the all-format series 10-6.
Indian Test team hit by Covid-19, player tests positive

Indian Test squad in England has been affected by Covid-19 after one of the players tested positive for the virus. The player affected has been kept in isolation and will not travel to Durham with the team for the camp that begins on Thursday. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to officially confirm the name of the player who has tested positive. Media reports claim that the player has been affected by the Delta variant.

Leander Paes, winner of multiple Grand Slam titles, has said it will take a while before India can win an Olympic medal in tennis. "It is going to be a while before we win another medal in tennis," said Paes, who won a bronze at Atlanta 1996, India's only Olympic medal in tennis.

IOC updates Olympic Oath, increases number of oath-takers

The IOC said on Wednesday that the changes were in line with its and the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee's "drive towards gender equality as it enables full gender balance amongst those taking the oath on behalf of all Games participants". The new wording was recommended by the IOC Athletes' Commission in order to "increase opportunities for athlete expression during the Olympic Games".

Federer pulls out of Olympics due to knee injury

Roger Federer, the former world No.1 tennis player and 20-time Grand Slam champion, has pulled out of the Olympic Games citing knee injury. The eight-time Wimbledon champion had missed the 2016 Rio Olympics also due to knee injury. "During the grass-court season, I unfortunately experienced a setback with my knee, and have accepted that I must withdraw from the Tokyo Olympic Games," Federer said in a note on Twitter.
