Delhi Capitals, with their bat, scored 203/8 in their 20 overs. Axar Patel (39) and Ashutosh Sharma (37) contributed most to their side's score. Prasidh Krishna was the bowler's choice, taking 4 wickets for 41 runs, and took the Purple Cap with 14 wickets this season as well. Despite a solid start from Tristian Stubbs, Karun Nair (31), and KL Rahul, Delhi’s momentum was halted by Krishna’s disciplined bowling, forcing them to settle for a total of 203/8.

While chasing in Gujarat, an early Shubman Gill loss to a run-out had put Gujarat backfoot, but Jos Buttler and Sai Sudharsan stabilized the boat. Buttler, who was struggling with cramp, made a masterful knock, scoring 11 boundaries and 4 sixes. Sudharsan (36) played solidly before getting caught by Kuldeep Yadav. A crucial 119-run partnership between Sherfane Rutherford (43) and Buttler further accelerated the chase.

The game took a turn in the 15th over when Buttler hit five consecutive boundaries off Mitchell Starc, as much as putting the match beyond Gujarat's reach. Even when Rutherford was dismissed by Mukesh Kumar on the last-but-one over gave some drama to the game, Gujarat had still only 10 runs to make from the last over. Rahul Tewatia finished the job with a six on the first ball and a boundary to wrap up the game.
