The Joint Committee on Waqf Bill had a dramatic meeting on Tuesday when TMC member Kalyan Banerjee smashed a glass water bottle and hurled it in the air with a host of words during an argument with BJP's Abhijit Gangopadhyay.
While this drama was going on, the thumb and index finger of Banerjee got hurt, and first aid was given. Later, he was seen returning to the meeting room escorted by AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and AAP leader Sanjay Singh.
Even soup was offered to the TMC member by the officials.
It was then that Jagdambika Pal, the BJP man heading the committee that was listening to views of a group of retired judges and lawyers, headed the subject of the stakes of opposition members in the bill.
