Patra Slams Kejriwal Over 'Sheesh Mahal', Compares Lavishness to Royal Extravagance

Referring to Kejriwal's affidavit in 2013, Patra mentioned the AAP leader's promise not to indulge in privileges like a red-beacon car, security, or a government bungalow.

BJP National Spokesperson Sambit Patra launched a sharp riposte at former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday, attacking the extravagant expense incurred by him in refurbishing his official residence. BJP said the fitments installed in the bungalow was so rich that even the Mughal emperors could not have enjoyed such luxuries in their time.

Referring to Kejriwal's affidavit in 2013, Patra mentioned the AAP leader's promise not to indulge in privileges like a red-beacon car, security, or a government bungalow.
Patra sarcastically quipped that Kejriwal did not only take the bungalow but spent crores on it and turned it into a "Sheesh Mahal".

He pointed out the elaborate facilities and the smart Toto toilets, with facilities such as remotely controlled automatic open-close seats, temperature control, and premium body massage chairs.

He said the PWD recently floated an inventory of all the equipment installed in the bungalow, which, he alleged, showed that crores of rupees were spent on such extravagances.

"Arvind Kejriwal is the king today, controlling even the water temperature with a remote control," Patra said mockingly, adding, "But when the public votes, the remote will be in their hands, and they will ensure Kejriwal faces the heat."

He also took a jibe at Kejriwal saying the CM should return the Toto toilet seat, claiming that the public wants to see it.

Patra condemned the recent remarks by an AAP leader on terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, saying that terrorism is a matter which should not be any political controversy.

He referred to the condemnation by Home Minister Amit Shah of the attack on innocent people in Ganderbal on Sunday night, once again reiterating that Kashmir remains an integral part of India.

Patra also targeted Samajwadi Party leader Ram Gopal Yadav over his controversial remarks against the Chief Justice of India, claiming leaders of the Opposition INDIA bloc are raking up politics over religious feelings. He mentioned that in Sanatan Dharma, humility is the most important attribute and, therefore, sought some lessons from leaders critical of the faith.

On being asked for his view on the INDIA bloc, Patra brushed it off as fractured and said that its top leaders do not even attempt to understand why they lost elections.

Patra also reported on a meeting led by BJP National President J.P. Nadda where the issue was membership campaign and organisational polls.

He quoted the party's internal democratic process and said that the rising success of the party is due to its alliance with Modi government's policies that work to enhance the poor section.
Patra proudly noted that 61% of new BJP members are below 35 years of age, bringing light to the appeal of the party toward youth.
