Bihar BJP President, Samrat Chaudhary, urged the Opposition's INDIA bloc on Friday to declare Nitish Kumar as its prime ministerial candidate. Expressing his perspective, Chaudhary stated, "People are talking about a convener, but I would say that the 'INDI' Alliance should make him (Nitish Kumar) the prime ministerial face."
Despite Nitish Kumar's repeated statements expressing his lack of aspiration for any post within the INDIA bloc, sources suggest that he harbors discontent towards Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav for not projecting him as the convener of the Opposition's alliance during the fourth meeting held in New Delhi on December 19.
During the meeting, attended by prominent figures such as West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the proposal for the INDIA bloc's prime ministerial candidate was put forward by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. However, Chaudhary's call for Nitish Kumar to take the lead adds a new dimension to the ongoing discussions within the Opposition alliance.
