Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently took a swipe at the "anti-BJP forces" following the Congress party's disappointing performance in the Hindi heartland states. In a post on social media platform X, PM Modi reacted to a news clip, cautioning against the "divisive" agenda of these forces and highlighting the persistence of a familiar pattern ingrained over 70 years.
His remarks were prompted by a news anchor's commentary on the alleged upheaval among unnamed "anti-BJP forces" after the Congress faced defeat in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh, all part of the Hindi heartland.
The BJP emerged victorious in these states, securing a significant win by reclaiming power in Rajasthan with 115 out of 199 seats, while the Congress saw a reduction in seats, securing 69. In Chhattisgarh, the Congress managed to retain power but faced a reduced seat count with 35 seats out of 90, while the BJP secured 54 seats.
In Madhya Pradesh, the BJP emerged as the clear winner, securing 163 out of 230 seats, dashing the Congress's hopes of a victory.
PM Modi's comments come in the wake of this electoral outcome, suggesting a warning against underestimating the perseverance of certain political agendas despite electoral setbacks, while also highlighting the people's discernment in the face of evolving political scenarios.
