PM Modi to Attend Navy Day 2023 in Maharashtra's Sindhudurg, Unveil Statue of Chhatrapati

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to arrive in Sindhudurg this afternoon to partake in the festivities marking ‘Navy Day-2023,’ held along the serene Tarkarli Beach, as per officials' announcement today.

The Prime Minister's arrival at Chipi Airport is anticipated around 3.45 p.m., followed by his visit to Rajkot Fort, where he will inaugurate an equestrian statue honoring the revered Maratha warrior-king, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Subsequently, he will proceed to Sindhudurg Fort to pay homage at the solitary temple dedicated to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, before making his way to Tarkarli Beach.

At the heart of the ‘Navy Day-2023’ celebrations, the Prime Minister is set to witness a showcase of the Indian Navy’s prowess and preparedness. The event will feature live demonstrations by naval ships, aircraft, submarines, highlighting the proficiency of both men and women adorned in striking white uniforms.

With stringent security measures in place by the Maharashtra and Sindhudurg Police for the PM's visit, key markets in Tarkarli, Malvan, and nearby areas will remain closed for the duration.

Traffic restrictions have been enforced along the route from Chipi Airport to Tarkarli Beach, complemented by enhancements and essential facilities established at various sites for the occasion.

The event is expected to be attended by Governor Ramesh Bais, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy CMs, ministers, local representatives, high-ranking officials from the Indian Navy, and esteemed dignitaries.
