Maharashtra cabinet mini-expansion today to 'sail through' legislature session

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, before adjourning the ninth session of the 17th LS sine die, said that the house met for 16 days wherein seven bills were passed. Rajya Sabha Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu adjourned the Upper House sine die, stating that detailed statistics of the session will be circulated during the course by the Secretariat.
UP: Raja Bhaiyya's father to be released from house arrest

Pratapgarh District Magistrate, Nitin Bansal said that Uday Pratap will be freed from house arrest after Moharram is over. "We have managed to salvage the situation after speaking to all sections of people in the locality. Since he was unwilling to cooperate with us, we put him under house arrest to thwart any possible threat to the law and order situation," he added. Shinde gave indications to the effect in Nanded where he is on a tour on Monday, saying that "you will come to know soon" and the names of the ministers shall be finalised by latter this night or Tuesday. More ministers may be inducted Tuesday - a day ahead of the Monsoon Session of Maharashtra Legislature which is expected to start from Wednesday.
