Narendra Modi was addressing a public meeting in Surendranagar on Monday, where he said, "It is election time, don't you think all parties should debate on development. But the Congress is aware that it can't speak much on development, as it fears that if the BJP will start counting development work it has nothing to show when it comes to development."
Comments on President: Ruckus in Bengal Assembly as Speaker rejects adjournment motion

The speaker observed that since the case is sub-judice, there is no scope for discussion on the floor of the Assembly. However, the leader of the opposition Suvendu Adhikari argued that the main contention of the adjournment motion was on why a minister should continue in the chair even after making such derogatory comments about the constitutional head of the country.

Khan was reacting on the recent High Court verdict ruling Priya Varghese, wife of Vijayan's private secretary K.K. Retired IAS officer Arun Goel takes charge as new Election Commissioner

The poll body will now have its full strength after the third post of Election Commissioner had been been vacant for nearly six months. After Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra retired in May this year giving charge to Rajiv Kumar, the poll panel has been a two-member body only. Goel, a retired IAS officer from Punjab Cadre of the 1985 batch, was appointed to the post by President Droupadi Murmu on November 19.
Satyapal Malik makes scathing attack on Centre

Tharoor demands probe into Youth Congress backing off from his seminar

Tharoor's demand has been backed by Kozhikode MP, M.K. Raghavan, who said that he would send a complaint to Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in this matter. Raghavan also urged state Congress President K. Sudhakaran to constitute an inquiry commission to probe why the Kozhikode district committee of Youth Congress backed off from Tharoor's seminar.
MCD polls: Delimitation, record number of women candidates to drive outcome

Many women candidates will be competing in the elections from both the parties. The number of women candidates contesting from the AAP is 150 out of its total of 250 candidates. The BJP has not been seen lagging in this regard and has fielded 136 women candidates. The reduction in the number of wards due to delimitation will directly affect the chances of many candidates. The caste equation will also also play a key role.
