Recently, Rajesh Ranjan, also known as Pappu Yadav, merged his Jan Adhikar Party with the Congress. However, when the Purnea Lok Sabha seat, which Pappu Yadav hoped to contest under the Congress banner, was allocated to the RJD as part of the alliance agreement, Pappu Yadav chose to file his nomination independently.

Singh further criticized the Congress, stating that it has lost relevance in Bihar. He accused the party of failing to negotiate with Lalu Prasad regarding the Purnea seat, alleging that both Lalu Prasad and Congress leaders hindered the political careers of figures like Bima Bharti.

According to Singh, Lalu Prasad's favoritism toward his son, Tejashwi Yadav, prevents others from prospering in Bihar. He cited instances where Lalu Prasad allegedly denied opportunities to individuals such as Pappu Yadav and Kanhaiya Kumar to contest elections, including his own son, Chetan Anand.
