Although the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) hasn't nominated any candidates from Uttar Pradesh, its Rajya Sabha member, Sanjay Singh, is gearing up for an extensive campaign on behalf of the INDIA bloc candidates.
Reflecting on his recent incarceration in connection with the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam, Singh emphasized that rather than weakening their resolve, the ordeal has only fortified their commitment. He expressed determination to convey the message across the nation that AAP stands unwavering in its stance against the BJP, even if it means facing imprisonment.
Releasing a few days ago from jail, Singh, renowned for his strategic acumen within the party, is set to embark on tours to states where AAP is contesting elections or extending support to the INDIA bloc.
Singh shared insights into the support garnered from workers hailing from states such as Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh, who converged in Delhi to meet him following his release. Despite facing adversity with the incarceration of its leadership, Singh highlighted AAP's resilience and readiness to confront the upcoming electoral challenges.
Expressing dismay over the defection trend from opposition parties like Congress to BJP, Singh underscored AAP's steadfastness against the ruling party, notwithstanding the pressure exerted. He acknowledged the remarkable resilience displayed by AAP members, particularly in the face of their top leadership being incarcerated.
Looking ahead, Sanjay Singh is poised to journey to Uttar Pradesh soon, where he plans to engage with senior members of the INDIA bloc, further solidifying AAP's alliance and commitment to its electoral pursuits.
