Opposition unity is just an eyewash, says Chirag Paswan

Speaking to mediapersons here, the MP from Jamui said that Opposition parties cannot unite in the country. "We have a clear stand that the alliance will be made just before the elections. When elections come, we will form an alliance according to the situation at that time. I personally believe that Opposition unity is an eyewash," Paswan said.

BJP's Kedar Prasad Gupta defeated JD(U) candidate Manoj Kushwaha with a margin of 3,645 votes after all the 23 rounds of counting. Kedar Gupta managed to obtain 76,648 votes while Manoj Kushwaha got 73,016 votes. At the end of 22 round counting, Manoj Kushwaha left the centre.
BJP leads in Bihar's Kurhani bypoll

After the fourth round of counting, Kedar Gupta was ahead with 15,493 votes, while Manoj Kushwaha could garner only 14,552. The BJP candidate is leading by 941 votes. Besides these two candidates, Nilabh Kumar of Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) and Gulam Murtaza Ansari obtained 708 and 736 votes respectively in this constituency after the fourth round.
