Senior Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) figure Champai Soren's arrival in Delhi on Sunday has sparked speculation about a potential shift to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Hemant Soren has charged the BJP with plotting to disrupt the Jharkhand government. Speaking at a public rally in Godda, Soren accused the BJP of using financial incentives to lure politicians and create rifts within both societal and political structures.

"The BJP is orchestrating a scheme to undermine our government by attempting to purchase our MLAs and sow discord within the community and political parties," Soren asserted.

He also condemned the BJP's tactics, alleging that they rely on monetary influence to sway political figures.

Highlighting the strength of the INDIA bloc alliance government in Jharkhand, Soren pointed out that three of his ministers had made the ultimate sacrifice during the Covid-19 pandemic. "We are committed to our mission and determined to remove the BJP from Jharkhand in the forthcoming elections," he stated.

Soren further criticized the BJP for allegedly trying to provoke unrest among tribals, Dalits, and minorities by recruiting leaders from other states. He pledged a strong response and vowed to eliminate the BJP’s influence in Jharkhand.

The Chief Minister also accused the BJP of manipulating the Election Commission by placing its allies within the electoral body. Despite the BJP's potential influence over the elections, Soren remained firm, declaring, "We will decisively defeat them when the elections come."

In Delhi, Champai Soren avoided confirming any intention to join the BJP ahead of the Jharkhand Assembly elections later this year, but his political activities are fueling rumors of a possible switch. Notably, he updated his X bio to remove any mention of JMM on Sunday. There are also reports suggesting that Champai Soren met with Bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari in Kolkata on Saturday.
