Ajit Pawar shown black flags during Pune yatra; NCP seeks clarification from Fadnavis

In a protest against the Jan Samman Yatra in the Junnar area of Pune district on Sunday, black flags were shown to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.

While some of the protesters, carrying BJP flags, objected to Pawar for holding an "official programme," some blamed him for "sidelining" the allies. NCP spokesperson Amol Mitkari sought clarification from BJP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on the incident.

The power structure in the state is classified upon the NCP, BJP and Shiv Sena led by the Chief Minister Eknath Shinde as the ruling 'Mahayuti' coalition. At Naranyangaon in Junnar taluka, Pawar, during his Jan Samman Yatra, held a meeting with the officials of the tourism department and environmentalist people for discussing development works and local issues. He directed that development projects shall be eco-friendly.

An NCP leader, Mitkari, shared with him an X clip of a news channel, as some people with black and BJP flags and raising slogans against as Pawar arrived in Junnar for the meeting.

Regarding the Jan Samman Yatra, Mitkari commented that it is a different initiative being forwarded by the NCP in light of the state assembly elections.

Mitkari reacted, "Those showing black flags should do it separately. Devendra Fadnavis should immediately clarify this incident."
