Farooq Abdullah Advocates Dialogue with Pakistan Amidst Terror Strikes, BJP Leader Retaliates

“These terrorists are infiltrating from across the border. The issue can't be resolved through military means alone; the only viable solution is to engage in discussions with the neighboring country. If this doesn't happen, terrorism will continue to surface,” Abdullah stated to reporters in Srinagar.

National Conference (NC) President and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah called for dialogue with Pakistan following a string of terror attacks in the Jammu region over the past three days.

“These terrorists are infiltrating from across the border. The issue can't be resolved through military means alone; the only viable solution is to engage in discussions with the neighboring country. If this doesn't happen, terrorism will continue to surface,” Abdullah stated to reporters in Srinagar.

Ravinder Raina, President of the BJP's Jammu and Kashmir unit, strongly criticized Abdullah's call for talks, expressing deep regret that the NC leader seeks dialogue with a nation responsible for multiple attacks on India.

“Rather than condemning Pakistan and holding it accountable for its acts of terror, the NC leader is advocating for negotiations with a terror-sponsoring nation,” Raina remarked.

He urged Abdullah to cease advocating for talks with Pakistan, a country that consistently infiltrates terrorists into Indian territory to harm innocent citizens.

Raina further emphasized that Pakistan will be dealt with in a manner it understands.

Abdullah also mentioned to reporters that the government must acknowledge that dialogue is the only path to ending the bloodshed. “Without initiating talks, these tragedies will persist,” he said.

The BJP leader condemned Abdullah for appearing sympathetic towards Pakistan while undermining the capabilities of the security forces to counteract terrorism from Pakistan.

He demanded that Abdullah clarify to the public whether Pakistan is responsible for the violence in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Farooq Abdullah, as a former Chief Minister and Union Minister, you are aware that Pakistan is inciting terror in the valley by infiltrating terrorists. Instead of advocating for them, you should support the Indian Army, police, and paramilitary forces, and honor their service to the nation,” Raina asserted.

Reaffirming the government’s firm stance on terror, he questioned, “What kind of talks can be held with an enemy nation that inflicts terror in J&K? We will respond to Pakistan in the language it understands.”

In the last three days, over ten lives have been lost in three terror attacks across different regions of Jammu, including Reasi, Kathua, and Doda. A CRPF jawan was among the casualties, while security forces killed two terrorists during encounters.

The first attack targeted a bus carrying Hindu pilgrims to the Vaishno Devi shrine in Reasi, resulting in ten deaths and approximately 35 injuries as the bus crashed into a gorge. The second attack occurred in Kathua, where terrorists opened fire on villagers while seeking a hideout. The third attack happened in Doda, where terrorists fired at a joint check-post of the Army and state police, injuring five security personnel and a Special Police Officer on duty.
