Chandrababu Naidu Sworn in as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Shares Emotional Moment

Amidst cheers from the audience, the 74-year-old Naidu took the oath of office and secrecy in Telugu. Prime Minister Modi congratulated him with a bouquet.

Naidu, visibly moved, hugged PM Modi before returning to his seat beside his wife, Bhuvaneswari.

In 2021, Naidu had left the Assembly in protest after his wife was allegedly insulted by members of the YSR Congress Party, vowing to return only as Chief Minister.

Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan, after being sworn in as a minister, paid respects to his elder brother, megastar Chiranjeevi, by touching his feet.

Nara Lokesh, Naidu’s son and TDP general secretary, was next to take the oath as a minister. Lokesh sought blessings from his father, Prime Minister Modi, and the Governor.

At the ceremony held at Kesarapalli IT Park near Gannavaram Airport, a total of 24 ministers from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) were sworn in. These included three ministers from Jana Sena and one from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Prominent ministers in Naidu’s cabinet included TDP's Andhra Pradesh unit president K. Atchannaidu and Jana Sena political affairs committee chairman Nadendla Manohar. Other key ministers were Kollu Ravindra, P. Narayana, Vangalapudi Anitha, Satya Kumar Yadav, Nimmala Rama Naidu, N.M.D. Farooq, Anam Ramanarayan Reddy, Payyavula Kesav, Anagani Satya Prasad, Kolusu Parthsaradhi, Dola Balaveeranjaneya Swamy, Gottipati Ravi Kumar, Kandula Durgesh, Gummadi Sandhyarani, B.C. Jardhan Reddy, T.G. Bharath, S. Savitha, Vasamsetti Subhash, Kondapalli Srinivas, and Mandipalli Ram Prasad Reddy.

The event was attended by former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu, former Chief Justice of India N.V. Ramana, Union Ministers Amit Shah, J.P. Nadda, Nitin Gadkari, Ram Mohan Naidu, Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, Chirag Paswan, Kishan Reddy, and Ramdas Athawale, along with Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and state BJP president D. Purandeswari.

Superstars like Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, and popular actor and TDP MLA N. Balakrishna were also present on the dais.
