Congress Raises Concerns Over Delay in Questioning BJP MP Linked to Intruders' Entry into Parliament

Expressing his dissatisfaction, Ramesh stated, "It has been exactly a week since the very serious security breach in the Lok Sabha shocked the nation. The Prime Minister, Home Minister, and the Lok Sabha Speaker say that an investigation has started.

The Congress party strongly criticized the BJP-led Central government on Wednesday for its handling of the Parliament security breach on December 13. Despite a week having passed since the incident, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh pointed out that BJP MP Pratap Simha, who allegedly facilitated the entry of the intruders into the Lok Sabha, has not yet been questioned. This is particularly concerning given that the intruders themselves have been charged under the stringent anti-terrorist law, UAPA.

Expressing his dissatisfaction, Ramesh stated, "It has been exactly a week since the very serious security breach in the Lok Sabha shocked the nation. The Prime Minister, Home Minister, and the Lok Sabha Speaker say that an investigation has started. So be it." He questioned the delay in questioning Simha, emphasizing the peculiarity of the situation given the serious charges against the intruders.

Ramesh also highlighted the suspension of 142 Indian MPs who were demanding a legitimate statement from the Home Minister in Parliament regarding the December 13 incidents. The suspension of 49 MPs on Tuesday, along with additional suspensions on Monday and December 14, has escalated tensions between the ruling government and the Opposition Bloc.

The Opposition Bloc has consistently called for a statement from Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the Parliament security breach on December 13 and the reversal of suspensions imposed on MPs on December 18 and 14. The ongoing standoff underscores the growing political tension surrounding the incident.
