Congress MP Manish Tewari, who was the part of a delegation headed by NCP(SP) MP Supriya Sule, pointed out on Saturday that the mission's prime objective is to expose Pakistan's terror network to the global community.
In a historic move to highlight its struggle against terrorism at the international level, India has dispatched a high-profile, multi-party parliamentary delegation to key partner countries to focus attention on Pakistan's continued sponsorship of cross-border terrorism.
One such member of this delegation, Manish Tewari, had this to say: "For the last 45 years, Pakistan has been sponsoring terrorism against India. It has established an entire terrorism network in its own nation, where terrorists are trained, equipped, and then dispatched across the border to impart fear in India. In order to reveal this fact and debunk Pakistan's true face, we are traveling to various countries."
He emphasized that the prime objective of the delegation tour is to "put the truth of Pakistan-backed terrorism in front of people globally."
Supriya Sule of the NCP(SP) will lead the team, which will initiate its overseas outreach on Saturday with a visit to Qatar. Delegation members belong to a variety of political parties: Congress, BJP, AAP, and TDP.
The team consists of Supriya Sule (NCP-SP), Rajiv Pratap Rudy (BJP), Manish Tewari (INC), Vikramjeet Singh Sahney (AAP), Anurag Singh Thakur (BJP), Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu (TDP), senior parliamentarian Anand Sharma, and former Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan and Ambassador Syed Akbaruddin. The next stops on their tour, after Qatar, are South Africa on May 27, Ethiopia on May 29, and Egypt on June 1.
This campaign takes place in the context of Operation Sindoor and India’s ongoing struggle against terrorism originating across its borders. It forms part of a wider diplomatic push involving engagement with United Nations Security Council members to forge a strong global consensus aimed at diplomatically isolating Pakistan.
This is the first time since the Modi government that elected parliamentarians from different parties have been collectively mobilized as diplomatic emissaries to deflect Pakistan's narrative on the international scene.
While confirming that the problem of Kashmir is a bilateral issue between India and Pakistan, the Indian government is now aggressively seeking international acknowledgment and responsibility toward state-sponsored terrorism, marking a new way in its foreign policy strategy.
