Prime Video officially announced the Indian version of the internationally acclaimed reality show The Traitors, which will premiere on June 12.
Presented by award-winning director Karan Johar, the high-stakes reality show will bring together 20 celebrity players from different backgrounds as they play a game of psychological strategy, trust, and deception to win a substantial cash prize and the honor.
Co-produced by BBC Studios India Productions in partnership with All3Media International, Indian format is adapted from the award-winning format by IDTV, which has already received BAFTA and Emmy awards worldwide. As of its initial release, new episodes will be released weekly each Thursday.
Nikhil Madhok, Prime Video India's Head of Originals, spoke about the platform's enthusiasm for going further into unscripted productions. "Prime Video has always been the home to some of the largest and most popular scripted properties in the country. Now, we are taking a big stride as we expand our Unscripted content slate with our largest reality series to date—The Traitors," he added.
