Maliwal had filed a complaint at the Civil Lines Police Station, accusing one of Kejriwal's personal staff of assault when she went to the chief minister's residence. Sarma criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), contrasting the allure of historical landmarks like the Lal Qila (Red Fort) and the Qutub Minar with Kejriwal's focus on Mohalla Clinics, which he claimed were in poor condition. He pledged the establishment of medical colleges and super-specialty hospitals in every district of Assam and proposed similar developments for the national capital if the BJP secures victory in the upcoming elections.

The public gathering also saw the presence of local MLA Abhay Verma, deputy president of Delhi BJP Lata Gupta, and numerous other BJP leaders and supporters.
