Prime Minister Narendra Modi, leading the BJP's energetic campaign in multiple states, witnessed an outpouring of emotional sentiments, particularly in West Bengal over the weekend, as the world marked Mother's Day.
During the Hooghly rally, some supporters gifted PM Modi with handmade portraits of his mother, while another rally had emotional moments as PM Modi interacted with BJP workers.
A top social media handle, Modi Archive, shared a moving story about Prime Minister Narendra Modi from 2001.
The post said that PM Modi's mother, Heeraben, gave him an important 'mantra' before he was to take oath as Gujarat CM.
The account goes on to say that when Narendra Modi was announced as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he went to meet his mother.
Upon seeing him, his mother got emotional.
But Heeraben had something crucial to tell him, "Son, stand by your principles but never give in to corruption."
This historic moment was on October 2021 when PM Modi was to be sworn in as Chief Minister of Gujarat.
He went to seek his mother's blessings and got an important 'mantra,' which PM Modi has followed all his life in politics.
And there was another tradition that the PM followed quite meticulously.
After every electoral victory, he would go to meet his mother, Heeraben, to seek her blessings.
But importantly, the 2024 Lok Sabha elections are the first time that the Prime Minister is not having his mother by his side.
Recently, there was a video going viral of PM Modi reminiscing about his relationship with his mother, as he was emotional about contesting the polls for the first time without her blessings.
"This is the first time when I will file my nomination without seeking my mother's blessings," said an emotional Prime Minister in an interview telecast on television.
