Abhishek Banerjee, General Secretary of Trinamool Congress and Lok Sabha member, broke his silence during the party’s annual Martyr’s Day event in Kolkata. Following a brief hiatus due to health reasons announced shortly after the Lok Sabha election results, Banerjee refrained from political and organizational activities and was reportedly away from Kolkata for medical treatment. His absence extended to social media and the preparations for the Martyr’s Day event, marking a departure from previous years.

On this #ShahidDibas, as we honor our martyrs, we pledge to relentlessly fight for the rights of the people. I deeply thank and honor the people of Bengal for showing the Bangla Birodhis, time and again, that Bengal will never bow or surrender under any circumstances. Jai Hind! Jai Bangla!”, the message posted on his official X handle read.

In the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, Banerjee secured a historic victory from the Diamond Harbour constituency in South 24 Parganas district, garnering a record margin of over seven lakh votes.
