Tamil Nadu's Youth Affairs and Sports Development Minister, Udhayanidhi Stalin, termed the recent media speculation about his elevation as Deputy Chief Minister as baseless rumours.
While addressing a meeting of DMK Youth Wing office bearers at the party headquarters 'Anbagam', Udhayanidhi Stalin explained, "Reports about my elevation are purely rumours. Though various positions have been offered to me, I hold the secretary position of the party youth wing very close to my heart."
The Chief Minister M.K. Stalin's son, Udhayanidhi, told the media here that he has been consistently saying that all ministers would back his father fully if asked.
A few days back in January, during the DMK state conference in Attur in Salem, several senior ministers had insisted that Udhayanidhi Stalin be elevated as the Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Udhayanidhi emerged as one of the top campaigners for both the DMK and the India bloc. He vigorously covered 8,465 kilometers in 24 days, with the total speech time amounting to 3,765 minutes, to definitely place him among the most engaged leaders in the country.
