US Congressional Delegation Emphasizes India-US Relations as Paramount During Meeting with PM Modi

A US Congressional delegation visiting New Delhi and meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday hailed India-US relations as "highly significant" and praised the "scale, fairness, and transparency" of India's recent Lok Sabha elections.

Emphasizing shared democratic values, respect for the rule of law, and robust people-to-people ties, PM Modi reaffirmed his commitment to further enhancing bilateral relations for global welfare.

The delegation, led by Rep. Michael McCaul and including Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Rep. Gregory Meeks, Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, Rep. Amerish Babulal ‘Ami Bera,’ and Rep. Jim McGovern, congratulated PM Modi on his historic third-consecutive term. They described India-US relations as the most consequential and expressed strong support for deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Global Partnership across various domains such as trade, new technologies, defense, and people-to-people exchanges.
