Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will arrive here on Friday for a two-day secretive state visit to India. Following an invitation by PM Modi, her visit has been scheduled from December 17-18.
This will be the first bilateral state visit to India after the government formation post 18th Lok Sabha elections. According to a statement by the Ministry of External Affairs, during this visit, Sheikh Hasina shall have bilateral meetings with PM Modi and call on the President, Droupadi Murmu, and the Vice-President, Jagdeep Dhankhar.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is likely to call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina here on Friday. The latter, it may be recalled, had visited New Delhi to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Modi and the Union Council of Ministers on June 9, earlier this month-that only signaled the bilateral relationship between the two neighboring countries.
