Triumph in Rajasthan: India's Successful Trials of Portable Anti-tank Guided Missile Weapon System

The MPATGM, developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), underwent extensive field evaluation in various flight configurations to validate its technology and effectiveness. India recently completed successful trials of the indigenous Man Portable Anti-tank Guided Missile (MPATGM) at the Pokhran Field Firing Range in Rajasthan. According to a statement from the Ministry of Defence (MoD), the performance of both the missile and warhead was described as "remarkable."

A spokesperson from the MoD revealed that numerous missile firing trials were conducted successfully, ensuring compliance across the operational spectrum as outlined in the army's requirements. The completion of penetration trials for the Tandem Warhead System further demonstrated its capability to overcome modern armored Main Battle Tanks.

Highlighting the advanced features of the MPATGM, the official emphasized its day, night, and top attack capabilities, as well as its dual-mode seeker functionality, which enhances its effectiveness in tank warfare scenarios. With technology development and successful demonstrations concluded, the system is now poised for Final User Evaluation Trials before its induction into the Indian Army.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised both the DRDO and the Army for achieving this milestone, emphasizing its significance in bolstering India's self-reliance in advanced defense technology.
