In a poignant tribute on Monday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh underlined the unparalleled significance of Siachen, often termed as the world's highest battlefield. Singh drew a striking analogy, likening Siachen to the capital of courage, sacrifice, and valor, much like New Delhi serves as the political nucleus, Mumbai as the commercial hub, and Bengaluru as the technological epicenter.

April 13 marked the commemoration of Siachen Day, coinciding with the completion of 40 years since the initiation of 'Operation Meghdoot' on April 13, 1984. Reflecting on this historic milestone, Singh lauded the monumental achievement, which stands as an indelible testament to the indomitable spirit of the Indian Armed Forces, especially in the realm of high-altitude warfare.
