Rajnath Singh Questions Rahul Gandhi's Willingness to Contest from Amethi

During his speech in the Pathanamathitta Lok Sabha constituency, where he was rallying support for BJP candidate Anil K Antony, Singh also remarked on the absence of any significant political ascent for the Congress scion in the past two decades, humorously referring to it as the failure of the "Rahulyaan" to take off or land anywhere.

In a recent address, senior BJP figure Rajnath Singh took a pointed jab at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, suggesting that since his defeat in the 2019 Amethi Lok Sabha race, he lacks the resolve to contest from there again. Singh remarked that Gandhi, post his defeat, relocated from Uttar Pradesh to Kerala. However, he hinted that Gandhi may not find the same success in Wayanad, implying that the locals there might not choose him as their MP.

Singh also took a moment to praise Congress veteran A K Antony, lauding him as a person of integrity and discipline whose honesty remains unquestioned. He expressed surprise at A K Antony's statement suggesting that his son, Anil Antony, should not win in the Lok Sabha polls. Acknowledging A K Antony's principled stance, Singh appealed to him, as Anil's father, to at least bestow his blessings upon his son, even if he couldn't actively support him.

With the Lok Sabha elections in Kerala scheduled for April 26 and the results to be announced on June 4, the political landscape in the state promises to be intriguing.
