PM Modi tops 'Global Leader Approval' ratings for third time in a row, leaves behind Joe Biden, Boris Johnson

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has topped the “Global Leader Approval” list for the third consecutive year in a row. PM Modi’s approval ratings stand at 72 percent, last updated on 3rd February.

PM Modi’s approval rating currently stands at 72 percent. Disapproval rating is 21 percent with 7 percent having no opinion. He is followed by Mexico’s Andrés Manuel López Obrador at the second position. Obrador has an approval rating of 64 percent and disapproval rating of 26 percent. Italy’s Draghi comes at third position with 57 percent approval ratings. Japan’s Kishida comes in fourth with 47 percent. Germany’s new chancellor Olaf Scholz comes at fifth with 42 percent approval ratings. America’s Biden comes at sixth with 41 percent approval ratings. France’s Macron is at second-last position with 35 percent approval ratings. President Macron is standing for reelection this year. At the bottom of the list is UK PM Boris Johnson at 30 percent approval. PM Johnson has been facing backlash from his citizens, opposition Labour party as well as members of his own party for violating COVID19 restrictions in 2020 when he threw a party amid strict covid lockdown in the country.

The list was released by “Morning Consultant political intelligence.” It tracks the approval ratings of government leaders and country trajectories in Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States. These ratings are updated weekly on the basis of latest collected data which offers insight into political dynamics in the 13 countries.
