Avoid non-essential travel, India advises its nationals in Ukraine
In view of the current escalation of hostilities in Ukraine, Indian nationals are advised to avoid all non-essential travel to and within Ukraine. They must strictly follow the safety and security guidelines issued by the Ukrainian Government and local authorities, the advisory said.
India relied on Russian weapons as West chose to arm military dictatorship: S. Jaishankar
S.Jaishankar said this during a joint press meet with his Australian counterpart Penny Wong in Canberra. Jaishankar, who is on a visit to Australia, said this in response to a question by an Australian journalist, who asked him whether India will reduce its reliance on Russian weapons and rethink it's relations with Russia owing to the Ukraine conflict.
India reports 2,424 fresh Covid cases, 14 deaths
In the same period, the country recorded 15 more Covid related deaths, taking the national toll to 5,28,814 as per the report. The active caseload presently stands at 28,079 cases, accounting for 0.06 per cent of the country's total positive cases. The recovery of 2,923 patients in the last 24 hours took the cumulative tally to 4,40,57,544. Consequently, India's recovery rate stands at 98.75 per cent.
BJP MP Parvesh Singh Verma calls for boycotting Muslims
The programme was held to discuss the stabbing of a 25-year-old youth Manish in Delhi's Sunder Nagri area on October 1. Referring to the incident, Verma said he was killed by the "Jihadi elements". Three Muslim men were allegedly involved in the killing. According to sources, several other leaders including VHP's International Joint General Secretary Surendra Jain have also made controversial remarks during the event.

2 terrorists killed in Anantnag encounter
Two terrorists were killed in an overnight encounter in South Kashmir's Anantnag district, police said on Monday. Confirming the development, the police said that an operation is currently underway in the district's Tangpawa area. After receiving a tip-off about the presence of terrorists, a joint team of police and security forces cordoned off the area on Sunday night.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi on Saturday said in a statement said that Jammu and Kashmir witnesses a similar and sustained terrorist campaign for decades. "This continues. The remaining 142 items are being indigenised within the timeline of December 2022. Some of the main sub-systems and line replacement units (LRUs) indigenised include magazine fire fighting system for ships, steering gear system and fin stabilisers with control for frigates, pressurised containers for Akash missiles, KOE charge for Konkurs missiles and electric motor, decontamination set and prism optical instrument for battle tanks.
