Soldier found dead in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla

Police sources said that an army soldier, identified as Rahul Bhagat, son of Anand Bhagat of Maharashtra, was found dead in a pool of blood with gunshot wound in his chest inside a camp in the Boniyar area of Uri tehsil.
India logs 3,011 fresh Covid infections, 28 deaths

In the same period, 28 more Covid-related deaths took the national fatalities tally to 5,28,701, as per the report. Meanwhile, the active caseload stands at 36,126 cases, accounting for 0.08 per cent of the total positive cases. The recovery of 4,301 patients took the cumulative tally to 4,40,32,671. Consequently, the recovery rate stands at 98.73 per cent.

The helicopters will be inducted into the IAF inventory at a ceremony in Jodhpur in presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal V.R. Chaudhari. The induction of these helicopters will be a big boost to the IAF's combat prowess, Rajnath Singh said.

A sign with the park's name was allegedly vandalised and officials have ordered a probe, said city Mayor Patrick Brown, who confirmed the incident on Twitter. Condemning the incident, Brown said, "We have zero tolerance for this." He also said that the matter has now been flagged to Peel Regional Police for further investigation, adding that the Parks department is working to resolve and correct the sign as soon as possible.

2 terrorists killed in Kashmir encounter identified

On Friday, a joint cordon and search operation was launched by the police, army and SSB based on a tip-off regarding the presence of terrorists in Yedipora village. Police said they have been identified the slain terrorists as Yawar Shafi Bhat, a resident of Kalampora in Pulwama, and Aamir Hussain Bhat, from Veshro in Shopian. As per police records, both of them were categorised terrorists and had recently joined terrorist ranks.
