India logs 2,430 new Covid cases, 17 deaths

The new fatalities increased the overall death toll to 5,28,874. The active caseload of 26,618 accounts for 0.06 per cent of the country's total positive cases. The recovery of 2,378 patients in the last 24 hours took the cumulative tally to 4,40,70,935. Consequently, India's recovery rate stands at 98.76 per cent.
Indian rocket to launch 36 OneWeb satellites on Oct 23

According to Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), the launch of its rocket Geosynchrounous Satellite Launch Vehicle-Mark III (GSLV MkIII) with 36 satellites of OneWeb is scheduled on October 23 at 12.07 a.m. It said that, the cryogenic engine stage and the equipment bay assembly has been completed. The satellites are encapsulated and assembled in the rocket and final checks are in progress.

Attack on our student in Australia should be taken seriously: India

"The Indian national is in hospital, his treatment is on... Our High Commission in Canberra and Consulate in Sydney are in close touch with the local authorities, and family here. Our officials have met him in the hospital. Our expectation is that the issue must be taken seriously and action must be taken against the perpetrators," External Affairs Ministry spokesman Arindam Bagchi said in his weekly briefing.

Consequently, the recovery rate stands at 98.76 per cent.

No question of revoking hijab ban: Karnataka Minister

"There is no question of reversing the state government's order issued on February 5, banning hijab and other religious symbols in educational institutions of the state. The uniform rule will continue in schools and pre-university colleges," he said.
