India reports 2,112 fresh Covid cases, 4 deaths

In the same period, the country has recorded 4 more Covid-related deaths, taking the national fatalities tally to 5,28,957, as per the report. Meanwhile, the active caseload of the country stands at 24,043 cases, accounting for 0.05 per cent of the country's total positive cases. The recovery of 3,102 patients in the last 24 hours took the cumulative tally to 4,40,87,748. Consequently, India's recovery rate stands at 98.76 per cent.
Voices are now being raised against Khalistanis in Canada

An Ottawa-based former Canadian Broadcasting Corporation journalist Terry Milewski has criticised the Khalistani activists holding a so-called referendum, and questioned them on whether "they will go and live in the Indian state of Punjab leaving a prosperous country like Canada". Referring to the truckers' march in support of the referendum in Brampton in September, he said, "putting a Khalistan flag on the $50,000 vehicle makes no sense as they are not going to leave their expensive truck and a prosperous life in Canada and go back to Punjab".
Good terrorism and bad terrorism don't go together: Amit Shah

Speaking on the occasion, Shah indirectly took many digs at Pakistan, stating that "good" terrorism or "bad" terrorism, or "small" terrorist attack or "big" terrorist attack -- these two narratives cannot go hand in hand. Stating that terrorism is a global problem, Shah said the first goal that Interpol has set for 2020-25 is to tackle the menace of terrorism. He added that terrorism is the biggest violation of human rights, and Interpol is the best platform for the coordination of all the countries, which is very important for the fight against cross-border terrorism.
Pakistan must continue to take 'credible', 'verifiable' action against terrorism: India on FATF decision

The remarks were made by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi in response to media queries on Pakistan's removal from the grey list of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) on Friday. "It is in global interest that the world remains clear that Pakistan must continue to take credible, verifiable, irreversible and sustained action against terrorism and terrorist financing emanating from territories under its control," Bagchi said in a statement.
Countdown begins for ISRO's historic rocket launch

The 43.5 metre tall and weighing 644 ton LVM3 M2 rocket is scheduled to blast off from the first second pad at India's rocket port in Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh at 12.07 a.m. on Sunday. "The countdown is in progress smoothly. The gas charging and propellant filling operations of L110 stage are progressing," an Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) official told IANS.

India logs 2,119 new Covid cases, 10 deaths

The new deaths took the overall fatalities to 5,28,953. The active caseload at 25,037 accounts for 0.06 per cent of the country's total positive cases. The recovery of 2,582 patients in the last 24 hours took the cumulative tally to 4,40,84,646. Consequently, India's recovery rate stands at 98.76 per cent. Meanwhile, the daily and weekly positivity rates stood at 1.13 per cent and 0.97 per cent, respectively.
'Spend money on sweets', SC refuses urgent hearing on plea against Delhi's firecracker ban

A bench headed by Justice M.R. Shah said let people breathe clean air, adding that there were other ways to celebrate. "Spend your money on sweets," said the bench. Advocate Shashank Shekhar Jha, representing Manoj Tiwari, contended that the pollution is also rising due to stubble burning. However, the bench said it will hear the matter later.
