Subramanian Swamy moves Delhi HC over 'inadequate' security at private residence

On September 14, the Delhi High Court directed Swamy to hand over the possession of his government bungalow to the estate officer within six weeks. During the course of the hearing this morning, his counsel argued that no security arrangement has been made at his private accommodation despite the government's assurance after Swamy agreed to vacate the government bungalow by October 26.
Delhi's air quality still 'very poor'

According to data from the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR), the concentration of (Particulate Matters) PM 10 and PM 2.5 was recorded as 219 and 316 in Delhi. In Pusa, the AQI was 318 while, PM 10 was 199. At Lodhi Road, the AQI was 309 with PM 2.5 concentration and the PM 10 stood at 193.
Rajbhar to hold rally in Patna today

Rajbhar recently threatened Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar with dire consequences for not conducting caste census in Bihar. Piyush Mishra, the national spokesperson of SBSP, said: "Rajbhar is starting the campaign for the 2024 Lok Sabha election in Bihar. He is expected to make a big announcement here in a rally which he named as 'Savdhaan rally'."
India reports 1,112 new Covid cases

Also in the same period, a total of 1,44,491 tests were conducted across the country, increasing the overall tally to over 90.04 crore. As of Thursday morning, India's Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 219.58 crore. Over 4.12 crore adolescents have been administered with a first dose of Covid-19 jab since the beginning of vaccination drive for this age bracket.

India reports 830 fresh Covid cases, 1 death

The overall nationwide death toll now stands at 5,28,981. The active caseload at 21,607 accounts for 0.05 per cent of the country's total positive cases. The recovery of 1,771 patients in the last 24 hours took the cumulative tally to 4,40,95,180. Consequently, India's recovery rate stands at 98.77 per cent. Meanwhile, the daily and weekly positivity rates stood at 0.67 per cent and 1.05 per cent, respectively.
Ram Temple to open for devotees on Makar Sankranti of 2024

Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust general secretary Champat Rai told a select group of journalists that the temple will be earthquake-resistant and sturdy enough to last over 1,000 years. The temple is being built at a cost of Rs 1,800 crore. Rai said that 50 per cent of the construction work has been completed. The temple, which will have 392 pillars and 12 doors, is being constructed without using iron bars. Instead of iron, copper chips are being used to join stones, he said.
Indian Embassy asks citizens to leave Ukraine

It said that many Indian citizens had left Ukraine after the first advisory had been issued on October 19. The Indian embassy further advised citizens to contact it for any assistance needed for crossing the border. It also advised the citizens to contact Indian embassies in Poland, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia as per their exit plans.
