India logs 1,574 new Covid cases, 9 deaths

The new fatalities increased the nationwide death toll to 5,29,008 as per the report. The active caseload at 18,802 accounted for 0.04 per cent of the country's total positive cases. The recovery of 2,161 patients in the last 24 hours took the cumulative tally to 4,41,02,852. Consequently, India's recovery rate stands at 98.77 per cent. Meanwhile, the daily and weekly positivity rates stood at 0.95 per cent and 1.11 per cent, respectively.
Now, 7 Germans to be deported for flouting visa rules in Assam

Golaghat district Superintendent of Police Ramandeep Kaur told IANS over phone that the process is now on to deport the seven Germans through Kolkata or New Delhi. Another district police official said that the foreign nationals came to Assam on October 25 and visited some tourist spots including Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve (KNPTR). The Germans' Indian companion Mukut Borda from Jharkhand was also detained from a resort near KNPTR.
IndiGo plane aborts take off as engine catches fire, passengers safe

"An aircraft operating flight 6E-2131 from Delhi to Bengaluru experienced a technical issue while on take off roll, immediately after which the pilot aborted the take off and the aircraft returned to the bay. All passengers and crew are safe and an alternate aircraft is being arranged to operate the flight," said an IndiGo spokesperson.
PM Modi pitches for 'One Nation, One Uniform' for police

During MHA's Chintan Shivir, which is being held at Surajkund, Haryana to discuss problems related to internal security, through video conferencing on Friday, he said that all states should consider doing something to the police uniforms on the lines of One Nation, One Ration Card. The recovery of 3,619 patients in the last 24 hours took the cumulative tally to 4,41,00,691. Consequently, the recovery rate stands at 98.77 per cent. Meanwhile, India's Daily Positivity rate has been reported to be 1.55 per cent, while the Weekly Positivity Rate also stands at 1.12 per cent.
Air quality remains 'very poor' in Delhi, Anand Vihar records AQI of 428

The air quality in the national capital deteriorated to 'very poor' category due to calm winds and cool weather conditions, weathermen said. According to data from the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), the concentration of (particulate matter) PM 10 and PM 2.5 was recorded at 219 and 316 in Delhi, respectively.
