Dalai Lama postpones Sikkim visit

“In view of the recent disaster in Sikkim caused by floods and the ongoing focus of the state machinery in relief efforts, the planned visit of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Gangtok and Salugara scheduled from October 16 to 22 has been postponed until further notice,” an official statement said.
Air India evacuates crew members from Tel Aviv

Canada confirms staff evacuated from Delhi over several weeks

ISRO preps first flight test to demonstrate crew escape system for human space mission

According to the space agency, it will commence unmanned flight tests for the Gaganyaan mission. “Preparations for the Flight Test Vehicle Abort Mission-1 (TV-D1), which demonstrates the performance of the Crew Escape System, are underway,” ISRO said. The first development flight Test Vehicle (TV-D1) is in the final stages of preparation.
Has Yamuna become India’s river of sorrow?

The sickly Yamuna river is already dry. “Thanks to open drains upstream, the river has been reduced to a vast sewage canal. Already you can see foaming and white layer patches on the river bed downstream of the Gokul barrage in Mathura. Yamuna is stinking with filth and toxic effluents,” said environmentalist Devashish Bhattacharya.
